This salmon comes together in about 30 minutes, making it perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that’s both healthy and flavorful.
Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon steaks (4-6 oz)
- 4 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- 5 tbsp honey
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 cup chopped fresh dill
- Salt and pepper to taste
Useful kitchen tools:
Directions:
1. First, prepare the marinade by mixing the mustard, olive oil, honey, lemon and fresh dill. Be sure to reserve a little fresh dill for garnish.
2. Next, rinse the salmon and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
3. Then, marinate the salmon in the honey-mustard-dill mixture for 15 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium to low heat. Place salmon in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes per side or until cooked through (salmon center will turn a pale pink color)
5. Finally, garnish with the remaining fresh dill. Squeeze a little more lemon for extra freshness. Serve over young potatoes or rice. Prepared as described, each salmon steak contains approximately 400 calories.
Oven Method
I actually make this savory salmon in the oven more often. Instead of cooking it in a skillet, simply bake it at 375°F for 20 minutes.
