I found this product out of necessity. With plenty of colds going around during the fall/winter season, I am often stopping at a local Walgreen’s for medicine and supplies. While looking for extra caps for our trusted ear thermometer, I ran into Fever Bugz. Brilliant idea for those squiggly kids that are not particularly patient to get their temperature taken! Fever Bugz are stick on indicators. You stimply peel and stick one on directly on the child’s skin – forehead, chest or arm. They are made in the shape of ladybugs, butterflies & caterpillars, so kids will find them cute. Within seconds, the Fever Bug will will light up with N for normal, or 99, or 101, 103 or 104. I’ve compared these to the ear thermometer, and the Fever Bugz were spot on. They are hypoallergenic and can be worn for up to 48 hours, although I’ve discovered that it leaves a red mark for a while if you keep it on longer than a day. I think this is a very convenient way to monitor your child’s temperature, especially when he’s sleeping. Just make sure to keep them away from tots that still put everything in the mouth. One of my favorite things about Fever Bugs is that they are an easy way to check temperature on the go.
