Zesty Guacamole recipe

zesty guacamole A few easy ingredients and you got a homemade guac. It’s fresh and delicious! You can make this guacamole more or less spicy with the addition of mild or hot salsa, and more or less hot sauce. I find that it never hurts to add extra cilantro and lime to taste. No wonder guacamole is often made table-side at Mexican restaurants, to get it right for your palate.

Serves 8

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • one-third or quarter of an onion
  • 2 small cloves of garlic
  • Small bunch of cilantro
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp salsa (as spicy as you like it)
  • A drop of hot sauce

Directions:

1. Peal avocados and mash in a small dish. Keep one pit to the side. Once your guacamole is ready, it will stay fresh longer and keep its color if you put a pit in it.

2. Mince onion and garlic as small as possible. Use garlic press if you can. Add to the avocado.

3. Add 2 tablespoons salsa, a few drops of hot sauce and juice of half a lime to the mix.

4. Chop a small bunch of cilantro and add to the mix.

5. Top with the avocado pit until ready to serve and garnish with more cilantro and lime.

Serve this Zesty Guacamole with chicken quesadillas or your other Mexican favorites. Add finely chopped tomatoes for an even fresher taste.
